Trump Admin Releases New ‘Earnings Indicator’ for College Degrees

"Donald Trump’s Department of Education (ED) has released a new earnings indicator for students and families to determine how much a college degree could be worth to them from universities across the U.S.," Newsweek reports.

..."In cases where an institution primarily serves out-of-state students, the comparison uses the national median for high school earnings.

The indicator is applied only for first-year undergraduate applicants and is based on institution-level data drawn from the College Scorecard and Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System, adjusted for inflation as of June 2025, according to the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators."
