On Wednesday Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), currently the ranking member of the House Education and Labor Committee, received a waiver from her Republican colleagues that she will need in order to return to her leadership position on the panel during the next congressional session. Because the role of committee chair is a term-limited position, per House Republican rules, the waiver would allow Foxx to pursue leading the education panel for the 118th Congress.
In a recent episode of “Off the Cuff,” the team highlighted what impact the midterm elections will have on higher education policy and also covered some of Foxx's sponsored legislation, focusing on student loan reform and most recently new requirements for financial aid offers.
