NASFAA is partnering with Advocacy Associates, a firm dedicated to providing scheduling and logistical support to associations hosting meetings on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
Advocacy Associates will handle all scheduling logistics and deliver final schedules directly to NASFAA attendees who wish to participate in the optional Hill Day via a mobile device app. NASFAA members no longer need to schedule their own meetings.
Hill meetings will begin as early as 9:00 a.m. and end no later than 2:00 p.m. on February 11. NASFAA staff will lead in-person, informal Hill Visit Office Hours from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Rayburn House Office Building Cafeteria (Room 2063) and the Dirksen Cafeteria (SDB-R7). This is an optional time for conference registrants to stop by and share any relevant feedback or insights relating to the Hill meetings with NASFAA’s policy staff.
Attendees will receive an email from Advocacy Associates with instructions on how to download the Advocacy Associates app approximately two weeks before the scheduled Hill visits on February 11, 2026. The Advocacy Associates app will include the meeting schedule, the congressional staffer in each office, and resources provided by NASFAA, as well as any real-time updates or changes.
If you did not receive the email from Advocacy Associates with instructions on how to login to the app and view your meeting schedule, please look in your SPAM/junk folder - it's likely in there. If you are still unable to find it, reach out to [email protected] and they will coordinate with our scheduling team.
Please email [email protected] if your plans have changed for Hill Visits during the Leadership Conference, including being unable to participate or having limited availability on February 11, 2026. NASFAA’s policy team will pass updates along to Advocacy Associates.
Demand for Hill visits has been high! NASFAA wants to ensure Advocacy Associates has accurate and up-to-date information so they are able to schedule as many meetings as possible with the congressional delegation for NASFAA members who will participate in the Hill day.
The dress code for meetings on Capitol Hill is business attire. You may wear comfortable shoes and then change into dress shoes once you pass security. We encourage you to bring an umbrella (just in case) and a camera to capture moments throughout the day! Business cards are also helpful to leave behind at the end of each meeting.
The Capitol Hill complex includes two sides: the House Office Buildings and the Senate Office Buildings.
Security on the Capitol Hill complex is similar to airport security. Capitol Police have updated their list of prohibited items that visitors are prohibited from bringing into the congressional buildings.
You will only need to complete the security screening process once on each side if you use the tunnels to get between the buildings on the same side. You will need to go through the security screening process again once you change from the House to the Senate or vice versa.
Getting Around the Capitol Hill Office Buildings:
Once you have gone through security on either side, you may move between other office buildings on that same side by using the tunnels that connect underneath each building. Elevators and posted signage will indicate which level you should go to in each building to access these tunnels.
When locating offices in the Longworth or Rayburn House Office Buildings, the first digit listed for the office number indicates which building you’re in and the second digit indicates the floor the office is located on. All office numbers for those in the Longworth House Office Building include a “1” as the first digit. For example, office 1432 Longworth will be on the fourth floor. All office numbers for those in the Rayburn House Office building include a “2” as the first digit. For example, office 2303 Rayburn will be on the third floor.
If you wish to travel from a House building to a Senate building, or vice versa, you will need to cross the Capitol Hill complex outside to get to and from the House and Senate sides, which can take anywhere from 20-30 minutes.
NASFAA policy staff will be located in the cafeteria on the ground floor of the Rayburn House Office Building (Rayburn 2063), as well as the large cafeteria on the basement level of the Dirksen Senate Office Building (SDB-R7) from 1-3pm on February 11.
Drive time from the JW Marriott to Capitol Hill is typically a 10-15 minute ride, depending on traffic. Please note this estimate does not include potential wait time to be matched with a driver. When using a rideshare app or taxi, attendees should enter or provide the name of the building where their first meeting will take place as the destination.
For meetings on the House side, possible routes include Metro Center or Federal Triangle to Capitol South (about 20 minutes, including walking time to the metro and walking time to the House buildings once you get off the metro). For meetings on the Senate side, the easiest route is from Metro Center to Union Station (about 25 minutes, including walking time to the metro and walking time to the Senate buildings once you get off the metro).
