Past National Chair, Johns Hopkins University
Kristi Jovell, FAAC®, is director of strategic financial aid initiatives at Johns Hopkins University. With over 25 years of experience in financial aid and enrollment management, Kristi brings a strong record of innovation, leadership, and strategic vision. She has developed financial aid strategies for both undergraduate and graduate populations, aligning student support with institutional goals.
Previously, Kristi was assistant vice president for student financial services and enrollment at Middlebury College, where she led initiatives such as a comprehensive book support program for students with financial need and the institution’s successful transition to PowerFAIDS.
Kristi currently serves as past national chair and has prior NASFAA Board service as regional representative and representative-at-large. She is a past president of EASFAA, has held leadership roles at Suffolk University Law School and Champlain College, and is a frequent conference and webinar presenter.
As a first-generation college student and Pell Grant recipient, Kristi is passionate about access to higher education and believes in its power to transform lives. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master’s degree in education from Elmira College.
